$1.4 bil planned for vocational training in rural areas (02/12)

Under the project, an annual one million laborers, especially from poor and ethnic minority communities, will be sponsored with between VND2-3 million ($108-162) each to attend short-term training courses.
They will be supported with meals and transportation fees as well, according to the plan drawn up by the Ministry of Labors, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The estimated funds will also benefit 61 poor districts nationwide by offering investment in their vocation training centers, the ministry said in a statement posted on its website Tuesday.
